Those Summer Academic “Cobwebs”

We all remember the first week of school in the fall – from fifth grade to high school – that first week of school always involved clearing out the cobwebs that grew all summer long.  A dormant mind grows cobwebs on top of the math and chemistry formulas we used to know, the literary devices we struggled to learn, and the science theories we mastered, just a few months before.

Here’s my latest column in the Century City Patch.  Fighting those summer cobwebs is easy, if you make a plan.

The first week of school will be so much easier if you work with your child – from elementary school through high school.  Don’t let that brain go dormant just because you’re at the beach and having fun!
