Host a College Admissions Seminar for Friends

Are your friends starting to think about (read: get anxious about!) college?  Please get in touch if you are interested in hosting a college admissions information seminar at your home.  We can tailor our presentation for parents of 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade students, or a combination.

Now Available for Class of 2017 Families:  Magellan’s Mini-Plan

Most clients begin their work with our team of counselors at the beginning of their junior year.  For these families, we have what we call our comprehensive package – we take students through both the exploration phase, and the application phase, of their college search.  For a multitude of reasons, some students aren’t ready to get this process started early in 11th grade.  For these students, we offer a limited hours package in which we can still help them research colleges and create a balanced list, and then work with them through their applications, including essays.

One huge benefit of our mini-plan is that our summer application and essay workshops are included FREE in this package.  We will offer two three-hour essay workshops, as well as two three-hour application workshops this summer.  Our comprehensive and mini-plan clients may attend any or all of these sessions free!

If you are interested in learning more about our mini-plan, please contact us here.

We’ll announce the dates and locations of our summer essay and application workshops next month.

Please note:  we won’t offer the mini-plan to students in the Class of 2018 – who are just finishing 10th grade – until this time next year.  We want to ensure that we have enough time to work with each student without exceeding the time allotted.  We have begun signing contracts with our Class of 2018 clients for the full comprehensive plan at this time.

Class of 2016 Wrap-Up

It was a great year for Magellan clients!  Our students will be attending a wide variety of colleges:  Washington State, Barnard, Loyola Marymount, NYU, University of Arizona, Skidmore, Wheaton College, Northeastern, Tulane, UC Santa Cruz, UCLA, Columbia College Chicago, Chapman, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Syracuse, Penn State, Indiana, UC San Diego, Hampshire College, Christopher Newport and the University of San Francisco, among others!  We take such joy in helping students find their fit and present themselves in the best light.

Best of luck to the Class of 2016 – now the Class of 2020!
