College Chat Livestreams – Concludes This Week!

Our weekly college admission expert interview series concludes Thursday, 7/30, with a conversation with two former clients.  Sophia is about to start as a freshman at Tufts, and Alexandra is a rising sophomore at Georgia Tech.  Join us at 5:30 pm pacific time; we livestream on our Facebook page.  We started this weekly series on April 30, so tonight will be the 14th episode in the series!  The archive of past interviews is here.

Feature Story:  Pre-Health Pathways in College

I spoke with Dr. Joon Kim, who helps college students apply to college, and Dr. Lesa Weber, a dentist-turned-college-counselor on the Magellan team, about guiding pre-med and pre-health students through their college admission journey and beyond.  Read more about our conversation, and watch the video, here.

National College Fairs Go Virtual!

The National Association for College Admission Counseling will sponsor online college fairs this fall.  The first is scheduled for September 13.  All the details and registration info are here.
College Admissions Testing
  • Some colleges are making the decision to not require the SAT or ACT for the Class of 2021, and some for future classes as well.
  • Should your student still take the SAT or ACT?  Will they benefit from a test-optional process or not?
  • It depends.  Call us to discuss.
Host A Virtual “College Info” Seminar For Friends

Are your friends starting to think about (read: get anxious about!) college?  You can host a private virtual college admissions information seminar for your friends or fellow “pandemic pod” parents!  We can tailor our presentation for parents of 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade students, or a combination.

INDIVIDUALIZED GUIDANCE

With most high schools online/virtual this fall, students may have less access to their school counselor than usual.

Our team of trained, professional counselors provide personalized guidance to make the college application process more organized and less stressful for high school students and their families.  Get in touch – our initial phone call is free!
