Admissions Cycle Complete!

On May 1st, high school seniors around the country made their decisions:  where will I go to college?

While there are almost always some hurt feelings along the way, overall it was a very positive year for Magellan College Counseling clients.  Our students will enroll in these (and other) colleges and universities this fall:

  • Arizona State University
  • Cal Poly SLO
  • Chapman University
  • George Washington University
  • Georgetown University
  • Lewis & Clark College
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Northeastern University
  • San Diego State University
  • Sonoma State University
  • UC Davis
  • UCLA
  • USC
  • University of Arizona
  • University of Colorado at Boulder
  • University of Oregon
  • University of Puget Sound
  • University of Washington
  • University of Wisconsin
  • Washington State University

It takes a lot of work to get to the successful end of each college admissions season.  A hearty congratulations to each student we worked with this cycle, and best of luck as you move on to the next exciting chapter in your life!!!

Juniors with whom we are working now are each looking at lists of 25-50 colleges, on their way to selecting the 12-15 schools that will be lucky to have them apply.  The work will be hard but the acceptance letters will be so satisfying!

Recent College Visits

I spent a week in Illinois in April.  Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. is a great medium-sized college option for students looking for a traditional college environment and big school spirit (my write up and photos are here).  Illinois Wesleyan and Augustana College are small, liberal arts colleges where students can have access to professors and small classes.  All three are great options for California students!

I’ll be visiting colleges in upstate New York in the fall.  I’ve visited over 125 colleges in the past two years!  As always, you can find my reviews of California colleges here, and out-of-state colleges I’ve visited here.
