School is Out But the Summer Will Fly By! Summer is a great time for students in all grades to start exploring colleges – online and in person! For rising seniors, it’s time to create a solid list that includes target schools as well as reach schools. With a few months to explore, summer is the time when you can really think about where you will fit, and what colleges have to offer you. Look past name and rank, focusing on at academic fit as well as student life opportunities. Students just completing tenth grade are about to head into the “tough” year – junior year. Soon it will be time for them to start exploring majors, thinking about their ideal learning environment and looking at colleges. Visiting a few colleges – even just locally – is a great way to get a jump start on the process for your soon-to-be-11th grader!
