My Summer College Visits and Timely Tips

This month, I’ve visited 18 colleges and universities in both Northern and Southern California.  Visiting colleges is the BEST way to get to know a campus, learn more about the students and the academics, and get a feel for the place. In the end, you will find that the feel of a campus can make all the difference for your son or daughter.

You can read reviews and see photos of all of the California colleges I’ve visited here.

Planning your own college visits?  Take a look at Go See Campus.  The website will connect you to college admissions offices’ tour and information session schedules, as well as help you create your itinerary.  The community section will also let you see other visitors’ impressions of many schools.

You can also sign up with a college tour provider!  They do all the work for you!  You may see a few schools that aren’t on your list, but visiting a variety of colleges will make you a better consumer.  Check out Seize the Day College Tours.  Based in Sacramento, they offer both northern and southern California tours from 4 to 7 days.  Registration for spring tours is open now.

They will thank you for organizing it! And if your friends are already knowledgeable about the college admissions process, broaden your horizons with my Great Colleges You’ve Never Heard Of presentation.  You know about Harvard, Stanford and Yale, but let me share some little-known gems with you.  Call or e-mail for more information.

Please feel free to forward this newsletter to other parents.  If you received this newsletter from a friend and want to be added to our list, please e-mail us.  If you’d like to be removed, please let us know.
