The daughter of a philosophy professor, Sarah M. Switala deeply loves all things college. A Professional School Counselor of 18 years, Sarah profoundly appreciates the post-secondary planning process. Working alongside students as they explore college, career, and scholarship opportunities is thrilling. Sarah builds strong working relationships with her students. She takes the time to get to know students and meets them where they are in the college exploration and application process. Sarah provides support, encouragement, and enthusiasm as students build a balanced college list, craft exceptional essays, and complete their college applications. There are few things as exciting as watching students submit applications they are proud of.
Sarah regards each of her students as unique. With this in mind, she partners with students exploring colleges and universities that will be the right fit. By finding an educational community that is a strong match, students increase their overall well-being, propensity for growth, and likelihood of on-time graduation with professional opportunities. Sarah’s ability to assuage anxiety, increase confidence, and empower her students makes working alongside her a productive and enjoyable experience.
Sarah lives in Northern Colorado with her husband, an educator, three sons, and two dogs. Sarah’s eldest, Aidan, is a recent graduate of the Colorado State University College of Business Honors Program and is a healthcare executive. Through careful planning, he was able to graduate in three and a half years with multiple internship experiences, one of which led to his current position. Sarah loves to travel, read, ski, and hike in the abundant sunshine and gorgeous mountains of Colorado.
