College Counselor Sheryl Schreiber

Sheryl has worked in leadership positions in academia throughout her career at both the high school and college level.  She has consistently found that just as no two colleges are alike, each student has a unique set of priorities for their college experience, so she helps students focus on finding the colleges that fit them best.  By getting to know her students’ strengths, Sheryl helps them prioritize their goals and tasks, alleviating the stress that can come from this challenging process.

With over 20 years of academic experience, Sheryl was formerly an Executive Director at Milken Community Schools where she oversaw admission, marketing, communication, technology, registrar, and college counseling. Sheryl also spent more than 15 years at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business where she held leadership roles in MBA admission, career services, and executive education.  Prior to academia, Sheryl worked in international human resources, production, and marketing in the entertainment industry.

Sheryl holds an MBA from the Marshall School of Business as well as a BA from the Annenberg School of Communication, both at the University of Southern California.  She is married with two children who have recently gone through the undergraduate and graduate admission processes.

Sheryl is an Associate Member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) and completed her Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA with distinction.  She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Valley Beth Shalom Day School, an independent elementary school in Los Angeles.  Sheryl joined Magellan after having been a successful solo practitioner in the college counseling field.
