Supporting teens as they plan for their futures is Monica’s passion! It’s such an exciting time as students start to think in terms of “who am I, where do I want to go and what do I want my life to look like?”
Monica B. Jensen is an Arizona transplant who survives the summers and stays for the winters. Growing up in a military family, she has lived all over the United States, Germany, and South Korea. She has worked with children and teens in various volunteer capacities for 20 years, including Big Brother Big Sister, Project Read, Museum of Natural History, and CollegeBound AZ. She has a BS in Sociology, an MS in Social Science, and an M.Ed. in School Counseling.
A school counselor by day for a public high school in Mesa, Arizona, Monica earned her Certificate in College Admissions and Career Planning from UC Berkeley – Extension. Monica serves as the Meta Network Lead and the FAFSA Peer Coach Advisor at her high school; grant programs designed to support low-income, first-generation college students. Monica is an active member of the American School Counselor Association.
Monica and her husband of 20+ years have 3 children; 16, 13, and 10, and a Shitzu named Molly.
