College counselor Briana Bouchard found her passion for helping others find their way through the college search process shortly after navigating her own college applications. In her first year at Tufts University, she became involved in the admissions office as a tour guide and spent the following three years in various volunteer positions, including her role as a panelist for Engineering open houses.
After graduating from Tufts with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering Design, she found herself drawn back to the world of college admissions, and accepted a position at Tufts as an Admissions Counselor. She spent a year traveling across New England to visit high schools, coordinating admissions programming and reading applications for both the School of Engineering and the School of Arts and Sciences. Eventually, her love of working directly with students brought her back to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts, where she currently works as an academic coordinator, advising undergraduate and graduate students and exploring ways to improve student experience within the department.
Briana’s desire to help students navigate the admissions process is as strong as ever, and she now enjoys working with high school students as a college counselor. She remembers her own college search as quite a roller coaster ride and wants to help students and families navigate the process in a less stressful way. She believes that while this is a fluid and ever changing process, with organization and a holistic approach, finding the right fit doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task.
Briana holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Tufts and is an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the New England Association for College Admission Counseling.
