I was on a panel last week at a counselors’ conference, and an admissions representative from MIT said something that really resonated with me.
Here’s what that means: Colleges are looking for the real you, the person you are deep down inside. They want to know what motivates you, what drives you, what intrigues and inspires you. They want to know what you will really spend four years investigating on their campus, and how you will interact with others there.
You may have heard the word “passion” bandied about in relation to the college admission process, and you may be concerned that you don’t really know yet what you are passionate about. When have you had time to figure this out? It’s ok. Use the summer to explore! More advice in this short video below:
